Material Girl Look Alike

It's official, the Material Girl herself has a look-alike. There are plenty of bad look-alikes, so we'll start with the real deal.

Circa 1980s

We then have a celebrity wannabe, Lady Gaga

Keep trying.

But then we have our neighbors and their decor.

Ding Ding Ding! Most creative Madonna look-alike. {To protect the names, and home of the innocent, I've posted a stock photo found online}.

Royal Wedding, I'm Over You.

First and foremost, I'm not a fan of Kate. Period. Not because she's marrying Prince William {personally, Prince Harry is more my type} , but because she's a snob! Ugh. I had high hopes, because I always thought she was so pretty and looked down to earth, and then I watched an interview on 20/20 and it blew it! I think she's a snobby brat from her mannerisms to the way she speaks. She will NEVER be fabulous and amazing like Princess Diana EVER!

Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks she's a bitch. One of the guards actually got fired for calling her one via facebook. Read on here:

Although I'm not a fan, I have to admit I'll still be watching. I work in the wedding industry so I'm just curious to see what the new trends are going to be moving forward. We all know that everyone is going to try to replicate everything from the colors to the dress, cake, flowers.. everything. So I figured I should see it in the flesh before I see the copy-cats.

To celebrate the craziness of the media and the Royal Wedding, I have some fun treats for you to see in commemoration. Don't be jealous you didn't think of these yourself. I chuckled as I scrolled through them listed on MSN . These are just my favorites:

Your own William & Kate sheets!

I will always be a bigger fan of Harry

Papa John's is doing a Royal Pizza in England

And lastly, tea bags.

Seriously? People are really buying these items. What has this world come to?!

6 Shore Road

It's nice having a bff that owns a clothing boutique because you always get a sneak peek at the awesome new lines they carry in the store. I have a new obsession with the 6 Shore Road line that Sally Bettes on King is carrying.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces:

Flip Flop Dress

Tight Rope Romper

&

St. Barth's Kaftan

The last is my absolute favorite, I swear the picture does it NO justice. I purchased this and have a mid-length tank dress I'm going to wear under it so it can be worn out with a pair of heels. It's gorgeous! Now I just need to wait to have hubby take me somewhere fabulous so I can rock this new piece!

I think my favorite part about this new line is the off-the-runway look for such a killer price point. All of those pictured above are under a $110 price point!

Forever, Fabulous!

I can honestly say I'm not and never have been a huge fan of Forever21 . Maybe it's because everything feels so "mini" on me, so I don't bother to try on. I've only ever purchased a few things from the store, but I suppose today made up for my lack of shopping in their establishment.

I didn't shrink in body size overnight, so I didn't buy clothes {okay well, leggings and a shirt dress} but I found some fabulous costume jewelry pieces!

I'm a huge fan of big earrings, these will be perfect to dress up a boring outfit. Only $6

And bling, bling for yet another $6

I also found two fabulous statement necklaces. Why spend tons of $ on costume jewelry, I'd rather spend $ on the real stuff!

Gorgeous for $7

And a little more nicely made with the clasp and has some rhinestones too but they didn't photograph well. I "splurged" on this one for $20.

Oscar Recap..

I must admit, I didn't watch all of the Oscars last night. I actually only watched the Red Carpet show. So not like me, but I've been neglecting my DVR and had to catch up on my Thursday night shows: Greys Anatomy, Private Practice & Jersey Shore.

I always love Halle Barry, she's not too risky when it comes to her choices, but she always looks fabulous!

My absolute favorite of the evening was Mila Kuis. Sadly I had to google her to find out who she was, but WOW this dress will make me remember who she is forever! I love everything about this dress, from the draping to the lace and the color- it's vintage glam with a modern twist. Rock on sister!

Sadly, my biggest let down this year, Reese Witherspoon. Sorry, it's just too boring for me.

And biggest shocker, Gwyneth Paltrow. I'm so not a fan of her style, but she rocked this dress!

I think award show season is actually complete. Bummer.

Grammys 2011, Not Your Average Recap

I'm taking the Grammys recap to a whole new level this year. Since my blog is about my thoughts, here's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the Grammys last night. So many look-alikes this year!

Lastly, I have my favorite outfit of the night. Props to JLo for rocking it out in this fabulous dress!

Obsessed.

I have a problem. Or just an obsession. Here's how the story goes: when first moving to lovely Charleston in August 2009; my hubby and I were walking down the street and stumbled upon a brand new store near the market called Sally Bettes . It didn't look like a normal store on the market, more high end and stylish & the windows were calling my name! We walked in where I met Justin {my other husband, but he's gay}. From that day forward I knew I had a best friend in Charleston, and a new store to shop.

Here we are just a few weeks ago at my 25th birthday bash!

Anyways.. he owns this fabulous store which has been closed due to relocation for a few months {my wallet has thanked me!} but now he's reopened and more fabulous then ever! Here are a few of my favorite picks:

Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet
Escapada One Shoulder Dress in Navy

Hayla Dewitt Jewelry

For those of you that are locals, Sally Bettes is having a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, January 14th from 6-8pm which will include trunk shows from Escapada & Halya Dewitt Jewelry along with delicious bites from Newton Farms Catering . It's an RSVP only type thing so e-mail sallybettesboutique@gmail.com to get on the list!
