Helloooo Two Buck Chuck

I've been sick, miserable for the past few days, but nothing was stopping me from a grocery stop at the newly opened Trader Joes in Mt. P.

Ever since moving to lovely Charleston, it's rare that I have found things I've missed about Philadelphia and the north, but one thing stands strong. Trader Joes.

What's even better you may ask? Trader Joes in SC. Why? Because they sell WINE and BEER. Particularly two buck Chuck.

Now only available at Trader Joes, this delicious $2.99 {so I guess now $3 Chuck} is highly rated. Seriously! See below for some of the awards it's won.

At the 28th Annual International Eastern Wine Competition, Shaw's 2002 Shiraz received the double gold medal, besting the roughly 2,300 other wines in the competition.
Shaw's 2005 California chardonnay was judged Best Chardonnay from California at the Commercial Wine Competition of the 2007 California Exposition and State Fair. The chardonnay received 98 points, a double gold, with accolades of Best of California and Best of Class.

Moral of the story? Don't let cheap wine scare you, especially this winner. I'd personally opt for a red, but after tasting some of the Sauv. Blanc tonight it's a tough call.

Cheers!

Weekly Obsession: Late Night Snack

I've been so good, but I caved tonight. I haven't had a day off of work in almost two weeks and I'm mentally and physically exhausted. Instead of sulking, I had a mojito with my hubby, and then took a nap. I woke up with a sweet craving and headed to the store.

Enter- the best ice cream idea EVER!

Ben & Jerry, you've done it again with Late Night Snack

Delicious vanilla bean ice cream with salted caramel swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. OMG.

A must try for a stress relief.

Now, back to the diet.. and boot camp on Monday!

xoxo

Weekly Obsession- Diet Cheerwine

For those of you who live in the North, I'm so sorry you can't experience what I'm about to share with you. For those in the South, new to the South or visiting the South - just try it, you'll be obsessed too! It's not a Coke or Pepsi product, rather it's made from the same family-run company when it originated in 1917.

My catering chef introduced me to this little lovely a few weeks ago, and now I constantly crave it. It has better flavor and isn't as sweet as cherry coke.

Lucky for the northerners, Cheerwine is planning on having nationwide distribution by 2017. Until then, hit up Cheer Wine Finder , you'll be glad that you did!

Material Girl Look Alike

It's official, the Material Girl herself has a look-alike. There are plenty of bad look-alikes, so we'll start with the real deal.

Circa 1980s

We then have a celebrity wannabe, Lady Gaga

Keep trying.

But then we have our neighbors and their decor.

Ding Ding Ding! Most creative Madonna look-alike. {To protect the names, and home of the innocent, I've posted a stock photo found online}.

Vacation is OVER, I Have Goals Now..

My blogging hiatus is over, my vacation is now over, it's time to stick with my goals for the rest of the year, or until Mexico in December.

I enjoyed two miniature vacays this July. One to Charlotte, NC and the other to Jupiter, FL. I won't bore you with details, because really- I didn't do much more then eat and relax. It was amazing! I will share my two favorite eats, one from each trip.

In Charlotte, NC...

The Cowfish
We'll call this the best of both worlds.. burgers and sushi. My guilty food pleasures. What a cool atmosphere and a must try if you're in Charlotte.

Check out this killer plate. On top you'll see the "Burgushi" the Filet Oscar Roll which is Filet Mignon, Portabella Mushroom and Asparagus Inside, topped with Crabcake.. OMG!

And.. Jupiter, FL

The Dune Dog

Just don't think about calories, your on vacation for God's sake. Just look at it, it's screaming sweaty hot Florida beach day.

Dig in to some "Yankee Fries" - a heaping basket of waffle fried with chili, cheese, tomatoes, onions, scallions and jalapeno peppers.

Oh and a signature hot dog like the "Junkyard Dog". Thinking about it makes me want another one...

Now to my GOALS...

Obviously I'm feeling quite fat, so it's time to get into gear. It helps that hubby is allergic to everything.. by everything I mean 62 things which we learned from the holistic doctor. You can read his journey here .

I can say, not eating corn, wheat, raw sugar, potatoes and alcohol is doing my body good. But I can promise you, before the next vacay comes about.. I'll be rocking some biceps like Drita. Hell yes.

I'll keep you posted on that :)
